JOHNSON CITY, TN (March 9, 2006) --- The Milligan College women's 4 x 800 meter relay team of Kortney Goulds (Johnson City, Tenn.), Brittany Bales (Kingsport, Tenn.), Ashley Pearce (St. Cloud, Fla.) and Jacklyn Talbert (Mt. Carmel, Tenn.) barely missed the finals of the women's 4 x 800 meter relay with a ninth place finish in a new school record time of 9:34. The time bettered the previous mark of 9:50 set at the Liberty Last Chance Meet two weekends ago.
The top eight teams make the final, which will be run on Friday evening.
Goulds, a sophomore, started the relay off with a seven second personal best of 2:18, with Bales also running a new lifetime best of 2:22.
Missouri Baptist led all qualifiers with a time of 9:14.
