Milligan College (TN) five-time All-American Megan Lease (Camden, NC) finished fourth overall in her first-ever half-marathon at the 22nd annual Mistletoe Run in Winston-Salem, NC Saturday morning.
Lease, who is coming off a 15th place finish at the NAIA Cross Country Nationals two weeks ago, crossed the line in 1:28.51. The Lady Buff senior averaged 6:47 per mile, and finished more than four minutes ahead of the national "A" standard marathon qualifier for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in Fresno, CA next May.
The women's race was won by Winston-Salem's Anita Giusti in a time of 1:21.39.
Ryan Starr, a former standout at Milligan and now an assistant coach with the Buffs, finished 2nd in the men's half-marathon race in 1:14.34.
