As most of you are aware we will now qualify 4 from each section to state
per the TSSAA meeting earlier this week. Having said that know is a perfect
time for us to create/join a Track Coaches Association to be linked to the
XC Coaches Association already started. We still have some fine tuning of
this new qualification standard left to work out.
For instance:
1. Do we run the 1600 and 3200 as a final?
*Yes*
2. Do we run a two heat final of the 800, one heat final, or prelims?
*Two heats stagered by sectional times*
3. Do we allow each team to enter up to 3 athletes per event at Sectionals,
thereby possibly qualifying 3 from same school to state?
*Yes*
4. Do we mandate that each section use FAT and have a posting deadline on
the web?
*Yes*
5. Do we mandate that each Section have their Meets on the same days or
small range of days? (dec. & pen.--how many points do i need for at large)
*Yes*
6. Do we keep the same Dec. & Pen. qualifying standards?
*Yes*
There are others I'm sure. Let's keep this successful ride rolling and
strike while the iron's hot..........
