John Parrish, who was arguably one of the elite runners of west Tennessee died in an automoble accident Friday night around 8:00pm. He ran his last race Thursday with a fast time of 17:06. Fridays practice was a grueling speed workout in preparation for the State Cross Country Championships next Saturday where JCS is one of the top ranked teams. I'm just devastated for our teams loss, but I'm more devastated at the loss of a great human being. I never heard him speak badly of a single soul. He was ever the optimist seeing the good in all men. I've met very few truely good people on this earth and maybe he was too good for this earth! He was a faithful Christian and I'm sure I'll meet up with him once again in heaven! John Parrish will be missed, Our Shooting Star!
