All Areas Of Tennessee Find Success At TMSAA XC State Meet


Not only was Ryder Chatman the first across the line for Woodland Middle, but was the fastest 6th grade finisher on the boys side for the entire meet. 

Class AA Girls

The City of Gallatin dominated the Class AA girls team race. The school campuses of Liberty Creek and Station Camp in Sumner County are separated by a little over a mile and finished first and second on Saturday. Liberty Creek's won the team title with a low score of 80, ahead the Bison's 113. This was the second year in a row Station Camp finished runner up. Liberty Creek was anchored by Gracie Ray's come from behind individual title. 


Spring Station's runner up Lorelai Whitten led for 90% of the race until Ray overtook her in the final stretch crossing the finish in 12:29.60. Chaiti Ainapure (seventh, 12:53.33), Campbell Holt (19th, 13:23.70), Hadley Tunney (23rd, 13:32.79) and Lyla Hillis (48th, 14:15.21) were the other scorers for Liberty Creek.

Class AA Boys

Collierville's Gabriel Bullock had a fast day in the Class AA boys race, blitzing the course in 11:17.50 en route to the individual win. Bullock essentially said "Catch me if you can" leading from the start and held on until the finish in a stout field of competitors.

Fellow Memphis area competitor George Church finished runner up leading Houston Middle to a team runner up finish in the process. 

No running state championship would be complete without a word from Williamson County. Woodland Middle out of Brentwood had an impressive average of 12:03.1 and spread 1-5 of just twenty seconds. and won the Class AA title with 65 points, 39 ahead of runner-up Houston. Sixth-grader Ryder Chatman led Woodland, traversing the course in 11:52.80 while teammate Jude Gill was not far behind (16th, 11:58.59).


Alexander Johnson (20th, 12:02.42), Hayden Primm (25th, 12:09.40) and Lucas Lockridge (27th, 12:12.57) helped round out the scoring for Woodland.
