TMSAA Middle School Rankings Filters Now Available

TMSAA Rankings

As middle school participation in Cross Country and Track and Field continues to grow statewide, MileSplit Tennessee is making a concerted effort this season to bring more visibility to these athletes before they reach high school level competitions. These filters have been long overdue but as I enter my third season as editor and feel I have a firm grasp of the high school landscape, this level of competition will hopefully no longer be a blind spot moving forward. There are a few caveats though. While MileSplit receives most all high school meet results, the rate at which we receive results from Middle School meets is much lower. Some areas of the state consistently submit while others never submit or keep official time to begin with. Furthermore, not all schools who are "Participating Schools" have created a team page. If you are a coach and need one created, please reach out on social media or email tnmilesplit@protonmail.com.

So while these rankings filters are now going to be available, they're not going to be perfect until most meets submit results. To promote expanded time keeping and results submissions, we're going to be publishing (without a paywall) the Top 50 Middle School Runners each week from what is submitted. One thing I've picked up on is that if a parent does not see their kids name on a list, they will let someone know which will hopefully drive expanded meet registrations and management.

In the meantime, here's a quick demo and explanation of these new filters.

If you have a "boutique" conference or filter you would like added, feel free to reach out.
