Hardin Valley Boys - 4x200m

We've written a lot of fanfare recently regarding the prospect of Memphis Central breaking the 4x200m state record this spring and rightfully so. Jordan Ware and Quincy Briggs debuted at 21.86 and 22.80 in the Shelby County Jamboree less than a week ago. But the team that placed third last May was that of Hardin Valley and their performance this weekend makes me wonder if the Hawks could give the Warriors a run for their money this spring. The foursome of Ethan Blaylock, Austin Rome, Ben Smith, and Aiden Shaw took the title with a time of 1:28.76. That time outdoors would've been the 4th best in 2021. Will be interested to see how this relay progresses throughout the season and if we ever see this quartet again before Sectionals. Hardin Valley's 4x800m Relay team also placed third with an 8:03.51.
