For those not going to Alabama or Kentucky or Adidas this weekend, the calendar for available meets in state is pretty slim. Even the Jr. Ward Tennessee Classic was cancelled again and not for COVID this time. I imagine until there is a reason to race on Steeplechase again, there's likely no reason to continue putting one of the two meets per year held there traditionally, on your schedule.
However, prior to the weekend, about 20 teams are jumping at the opportunity to race at the Cedars of Lebanon Park this Thursday. Kyra Hayes looks to get her third victory of the season, 4th if you include the time trial Siegel hosted as well. On the boy's side, Hume-Fogg's Luke Robinson looks to get his 2nd victory of the but in his way is another Star, Caleb Jarrett. Jarrett finished 3rd in Mason last weekend in his first 5k on the course since about this time last season. In this interview, Caleb discusses that race, his expectations for the rest of the season, and balancing running and work in season.
