Coaches and Participants,
Congratulations Middle School runners for qualifying for the 2009 Tennessee Middle School State Cross Country Championships. You have had a great season and this championship is the icing on the cake. We are also pleased to see so many Elementary School participants as well -- your willingness to start early will certainly have you coming back to this meet as a Middle School participant. Please take the time to read this email in detail -- It will save you time and questions later.
1. The course will be open for viewing and warm ups Friday and also Saturday morning. If you arrive Friday you will also have a chance to advance purchase the official event t-shirt (logo shown above). We will close the course for ALL WARMUPS at 10:30 AM Saturday - NO EXCEPTIONS. There is plenty of space to warm up outside the course confines -- coaches and athletes we expect you to adhere to this - not doing so will delay the start of races.
2. Packet pick-up will open at 9 AM (no earlier) and remain open until 30 minutes prior to the Varsity MS Girls race. It is located in the concession stand area across from the rest rooms.
3. I have posted a detailed roster list by team and unattached entrants (alpha order) on the web site - it is a duplicate of what you will find in your packet. This so that we might head off any entries that have been entered online with kids placed in the JV division that should be in the varsity division. If you have such a problem please deal with this at packet pick up so that it can be corrected. Misspelling of names will not be addressed. Please be advised that there will be NO MEET DAY ADDS to your roster and NO WALK UP REGISTRATION. The link for this is below:
4. There will be ASSIGNED STARTING BOXES FOR THE VARSITY MS RACES ONLY (numbered 1-15 and 17-28 - 16 has been left out). ALL OTHER RACES WILL LINE UP IN RANDOM ORDER. Please make sure that you pick up your box assignment sheet at packet pick-up. DO NOT LEAVE PACKET P/UP WITHOUT IT.
5. Team Tents are requested to be erected no closer than 100m from the start and finish lines not obstructing the start and or finish. SPECATATORS AND COACHES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CROSS THE FINISH CUTE AREA - NOR SHOULD YOU SPECTATE OR RETREIVE YOUR ATHLETE ON EITHER SIDE OF THE CHUTE PAST THE FINISH LINE. PLEASE GATHER AT THE END OF THE CHUTE. YOUR ATHLETES ATTENTION NEEDS TO BE FOCUSED ON GETTING THROUGH THE CHUTE - NOT ON YOU.
6. AWARDS - Elementary Awards will be distributed in the finish chute. MS Junior Varsity and Varsity Awards will take place below the concession stand stairs (by soccer fields) at 2 PM. In case of inclement weather awards will take place in the picnic shelter (at t-shirt and concession sales)
7. CLEAN UP - Please make sure your team area is cleaned up prior to departure from the park. We are fortunate to use the park and would appreciate you leaving it as you found it - CLEAN.
