When you post six individual wins that include a state championship, it's hard not to be your division's runner of the year.
That's exactly what Will Douglas did this past fall.
The Camden Central High School sophomore posted his career-best time with a 15:53.27 at Jesse Owens in December. And he continued his sensational sophomore season at state.
Douglas navigated the Sander's Ferry course in 16:01.78 en route to a state championship.
It was his first individual state championship in his career.
Douglas was 20 seconds ahead of Grayson Kennedy at state, who was also a strong candidate for our Runner of the Year after a strong season himself.
He made major strides in his second season of high school racing. Douglas ran 17:20.00 personal-best at Foot Locker South last fall as a freshman. He also finished sixth at state, finishing in 17:32.71.
We're excited to see what he does next.
Congratulations to Will Douglas - our 2020 Boys Div. 1 Small Schools Cross Country Runner of the Year!
