Tennessee was well-represented at Millrose Games in New York City.
Starting with the Brentwood Track Club.
With a photo finish (seen above at the top of the page), they brought home the number one time in the country with a 9:13.72.
According to our records, that time is the fastest ever run indoors by a Tennessee team since 2015. The previous best, set by Kindersport, was a 9:32.55.
Not only did Brentwood become the first team to break the 9:30 barrier indoors. They smashed it.
This team will have a shot to run even faster outdoors, where they'll have their eyes set on the state-best 9:12.64 which currently belongs to Farragut High School.
But the Brentwood Track Club wasn't the only representative for the state of Tennessee up at Millrose.
Jenna Hutchins had another big weekend against top competition.
She finished fourth in one of the best mile fields you'll see all year indoors. And she ran an state-best 4:45.12 in the process, which is also a new state record indoors.
Of course, Hutchins already has the outdoor state record. So this is just another credential on an already impressive resume.
That time ranks her fourth nationally right now. And it gives her nearly a ten-second lead on the rest of the state. For perspective, TN No. 2 Beth Donnelly is still No. 19 in the US. So that's impressive.
Tennessee girls are having a great indoor season on the national stage. We're excited to see what's next this indoor and outdoor season.
