One of the top runners in the state of Tennessee has made his college decision.
Tennessee No. 2 Carter Coughlin will continue his athletic career at Wake Forest University.
Coughlin is ranked No. 19 on the national leaderboard with his 14:57 victory at the KIL Invitational.
That win was Coughlin's third straight victory at the Knoxville-area championships.
Coughlin has 15 career victories to his name, including two straight state championships in Division II-A. He'll defend that title this weekend at the TSSAA State Cross Country Championships.
Five of Coughlin's six races this season have ended with individual victories. His last competition ended with a Region 2-A title, his third in a row.
