Tennessee's Best Teams Travel South
via atlantatrackclub.org
Two of the best teams in Tennessee -- Brentwood Academy and Oakland -- will make the trip down to Georgia this weekend for the Wingfoot XC Classic.
In the guys meet, both teams should contend for spots in the top ten.
Brentwood Academy, the highest ranked team in Tennessee so far this season, is projected for a top five finish. If top runners Matthew McMillan and Matthew Porter can finish in the top 25-30, then the Eagles have a chance to finish as high as second.
Oakland, on the other hand, comes in ranked seventh out of the 90 teams entered in the competition. But after Milton (38 points) there's a logjam of teams from second to ninth. It'll be interesting to see how this race plays out.
Here's what the meet projections look like:
# | Team | Score | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Milton High School | 36 | 1 | 2 | 8 | 9 | 16 | - | - |
2 | Marist | 198 | 22 | 29 | 30 | 33 | 84 | - | - |
3 | Pope High School | 210 | 21 | 24 | 44 | 46 | 75 | - | - |
4 | BrentwoodA Academy | 214 | 19 | 35 | 42 | 48 | 70 | - | - |
5 | Lambert HS | 246 | 5 | 20 | 53 | 58 | 110 | - | - |
6 | Ocala Vanguard HS | 251 | 3 | 18 | 62 | 74 | 94 | - | - |
7 | Oakland High School | 254 | 36 | 37 | 39 | 63 | 79 | - | - |
This competition will serve as an early barometer for how the NXN Southeast regional will shake out this year. It should be an interesting test for the two talented teams from Middle Tennessee.
