Seymour High's Pierce signs with King College

Bristol, Tenn. (May 20, 2008) --- King College Head Cross Country Coach Tom Murrell is pleased to announce that Seymour High School senior Ryan Pierce has signed a letter of intent to compete for King College in the Fall.

Pierce stormed to victory in the mile, and an eleven second personal record improvement, at the recent East Sectional Championships and will look to take that momentum into the State Championships this Friday, May 23rd. Pierce has progressed under the combined guidance of local legendary AAU coach Marty Sonnenfelt and Seymour High School coach Jerry Julian  and will look to continue that development at King.

"Ryan's ability is impressive," commented Coach Murrell. "His work ethic, knowledge of the sport and raw talent are all qualities we welcome to the team."

He is the son of Mike and Sharon Pierce.
