Moody to run for Lady Buffs

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (February 19, 2007) --- Kayla Moody has signed to run with the Lady Buffs’ cross country and track programs at Milligan College this coming Fall. Moody will be a member of the four-time defending Appalachian Athletic Conference/Region XII champions Lady Buffs cross country team.

Moody, from Avon High School, in Avon, Ind., was team captain of the cross country team, where she was a member for four seasons. During her freshman year, she won the Gatorade Rookie of the Year award.

She also competed in track and field where she ran the 800 meters, high jumped, and ran a leg on the 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 meter relays teams.

"Kayla is an all-around athlete that will definitely develop further in our program,” said Milligan head coach Chris Layne. “She's a well rounded individual who will bolster our women's team."

She will join fellow Avon High School graduate, Emily Schmitt on the Lady Buffs’ roster. Moody’s sister, Lindsay, is currently a high jumper at Kentucky.

Moody, an honor student at Avon, plans to major in communications while at Milligan.
