Marchant Hits NCAA Provisional Time at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational
NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- Chattanooga senior Lanni Marchant placed fourth at Notre Dame Saturday afternoon inside the Loftus Sports Center, hitting the NCAA Provisional standard.
While her teammates participated in the Indiana Relays, Marchant traveled up the road from Bloomington, Ind., to compete against a larger field. The senior posted a time of 16:39.92 at the Meyo Invitational, placing fourth in a field of over 30 top runners.
Marchant's time tops the Southern Conference 5,000-meter time by more than one minute. The London, Ontario native also leads the league in the 3000-meters with a time of 9:46.24.
