SoCon Announces Track & Field Athletes of the Week
SPARTANBURG, S.C. –

MEN'S ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Tom Divinnie – Davidson
Freshman – Brentwood, Tenn. (Brentwood HS)
Divinnie, in his first ever collegiate race, posted a 8:43.35 for 3K at the UNC Opener last weekend in Chapel Hill, N.C. He placed second overall and his time is the seventh fastest in Davidson history. His performance in the 3K is also the best in the Southern Conference this year.

Other top performers:
Ryan Rodd, So, UNCG (Business Major 3.2 GPA) Ryan ran a personal best in the 3000m (8:49.10) to finish 5th at the UNC Opener. Ryan dropped a whopping 24 seconds off of his previous best time in the event.

Matt Evans, Fr, Western Carolina (Sport Management Major 3.75 GPA) Matt won the high jump with a mark of 6-4 at the ASU Opener on Dec. 2nd. He also had a long jump mark of 21-4. Evans is the current conference leader in the high jump and ranks fifth in the long jump. Matt also made the Dean's List in his first semester of college.
