Meet: 2021 TMSAA Upper East Sectional XC Meet

Registration will be online at Tennessee Runner tn.milesplit.com. The meet is open to TMSAA member schools only. Check with TMSAA for your membership status and classification.

Where: Holston Home Cross Country Course, Greeneville

KEEP OFF OF THE HOLSTON HOME CAMPUS. An address near the car parking entrance - 1453 TN-HWY 70 Bypass. 
Please DO NOT attempt to enter the Main Campusof Holston Home or Beacon School. 



When: September 21, 2021 (Tuesday)

Entry deadline: September 18 at 11:00 PM.

***IMPORTANT***

Access to the course is off of TN 70 Bypass (Asheville Hwy). Parking is restricted to designated areas at the XC course. Spectators will be directed to a parking area upon arrival. Please do not attempt to park in areas to which you were not directed.

Holston Home is a working childrens' home.Please DO NOT attempt to enter the Main Campus of Holston Home or Beacon School. This presents security problems when outsiders enter the campus.

Once again, KEEP OFF OF THE HOLSTON HOME CAMPUS. An address near the car parking entrance - 1453 TN-HWY 70 Bypass. Bus Parking location will be announced a few days prior to the meet.

There will be a $5 per vehicle parking donation requested at the race site.

Collection containers will be placed around parking areas for your donations.

Donations go to paying rental fees for portable facilities and course maintenance.

No charge for team parking.

Starting boxes will be randomly assigned. Box numbers will be with your packets and will be the same for boys and girls.

Please DO NOT arrive before 3:30 PM. The course will open to runners and/or spectators at 3:30.

The first race will start at 4:45 PM. Times are approximate based on finish of the

previous race.

4:45 - Small School Girls

5:10 - Small School Boys

5:35 - Large School Girls

6:00 - Large School Boys

There will be no combined JV race this year due to COVID-19 concerns.

You may list 10 athletes, but only run 7. You may bring these 10 athletes only.

Please, leave others at home.If you advance to the state

meet you may run any 7 of the 10 you have listed at the region.

 

I. General Regulations

  1. TMSAA Uniform Rule: All uniforms must follow the NFHS Rules. The referee will warn every participant prior to the meet that they must compete in a legal uniform, and if a contestant competes in an illegal uniform, then that contestant is disqualified from the event. There are no team warnings or individual warnings after the meet begins. Officials should use preventative officiating as much as possible.
  2. For cross country competition the schools should be divided into two classes: Class A and Class AA for both girls and boys.
  3. The middle school cross country distance shall be 2 miles for both girls and boys.
  4. Four Sectionals (West, Middle, Southeast, and Upper East) will be held across the state with the qualifiers advancing to the State Championships. Due to the differing number of schools participating in each meet, the following will be the number of qualifiers from each sectional to the state meet: Upper East & Southeast will advance 26 qualifiers (top three teams and the five next best times) from each classification; West will advance 19 qualifiers (top two teams and the five next best times) from each classification; Middle will advance 66 qualifiers (top eight teams and the ten next best times) from each classification.
  5. Sectionals must be completed by September 25, 2021.
  6. State Championships will be held October 2, 2021 in Clarksville, TN.
  7. There will be a fee of $50 for a girls' team and $50 for a boys' team for each school that participates in the championship series. Check with your school administration to see if this was paid with your school's membership in August. This can be reviewed on the school ledger on the TSSAA Portal.
