Meet Information
24th Annual Houston Track Classic
April 13th - 14th 2017
Houston High School - Germantown, TN
Awards Medals to the top three places, including relay members. Trophies to the top 2 teams (boys and girls). Special awards to the outstanding individuals (boys and girls) and a single outstanding performance of the meet.
Entry Fee The entry fee is $100 per boys team and $100 per girls team. Payment must be received no later than Thursday, April 13th. Make checks payable to Houston Track Booster Club with Track Classic Entry Fee written on the memo line. You may also make the check to Houston High School if your district requires a check made to a school.
Entry Limitations Each team will be allowed a maximum of three (3) entries in each individual event and one (1) entry in each relay event. We will follow TSSAA rules. A contestant shall not be entered in more than four (4) events, excluding relays. A contestant shall not compete in more than four (4) events, including relays.
Qualifying Standards THERE ARE NO QUALIFYING STANDARDS. All heats will be seeded according to times given.
Prelims- heats will be formed based on VERIFIABLE times. We will advance 14 to finals to be held on Saturday.
Field Events All field events will be finals. Horizontal events (Throws, LJ, TJ) will receive 3 attempts.
9 will advance to the final for 3 more attempts.
Unified Events- we are excited to announce the addition of Unified Track to the Houston Classic. Special needs students from several local schools will have the opportunity of competing along side their fellow student athletes in the following events: shot, long jump, 100M dash, 4x100M relay. Entry Deadline All entries are due no later than Tuesday, April 11th 11:59PM EDT. You will need to register online at www.tennesseerunner.com or http://tn.milesplit.com/meets/188956 for the Houston HS Track Classic. Registration obligates your payment of the $100 entry fee. This is the same website used for TN sectionals.
Event Check In Field events will check in at the event location. Running events will check in at the large black tent at the south entrance of the track to receive lane assignments and hip numbers. Athletes should check in at second call of their event. ALL OPEN RACES REQUIRE CHECK IN TO THE CLERK OF COURSE. Races are seeded once check in closes.
Coaches Meeting There is no coaches meeting.
Dressing Facilities Sorry, there are no dressing facilities available. Please have your athletes dressed and ready to compete.
Hospitality A hospitality room for coaches and sponsors will be provided. The location will be in the Varsity Gym office. Please use the South entrance. Food by the
World Famous Rendezvous BBQ.
Admission fee $7 per day
