GENERAL INFORMATION
ELIGIBILITY:
Sanctions have been requested from the following state associations: AL,FL, GA, IL, IND, KY,MISS,NC,OH, PENN, SC, TN,VA, WVA. It is your responsibility to confirm that your state association has sanctioned this meet. If your state is not part of the list above please contact meet management to request your state be added. Member schools are invited to enter. Track club or unattached entries will not be accepted. Postgraduate students who have completed the 12th grade cannot compete. Participants must be certified and eligible to compete in their state associations.

GATE FEE:
There will be a gate fee of $4.00 Saturday. All athletes must present their team jerseys for free entry. All coaches will be given gate passes in their packets.
ENTRY FEE:
$10.00 per athlete. Maximum $ 80.00 per team (Boys and Girls pay as separate teams) No Refunds.

ENTRY DEADLINE:
All online entries must be made by Wednesday, April 6, 2016 (12 PM). Make checks payable to Knoxville Youth Athletics. Certified, Cashiers Check, Money order or School Check only. There are no entry refunds or entry fee changes for scratched athletes or no-shows. All entry fees must be received by at our PO Box by - Friday April 8th. If you cannot send in your payment by this time please pay your fees by credit card when you register online (extra charges apply)

ENTRY CONFIRMATION:
A copy of your on-line entries will be e-mailed to you. Please check this email carefully. You are able to make changes to this entry online up through the entry deadline of 4/6/16. All entries are accepted pending the receipt of entry fees. We must recieve your entry fees no later than April 1, 2015. No other changes to your entries will be accepted after the entry deadline.
ENTRY LIMITS:
Four (4) individual entries per event per team. Four (4) events per athlete (including field and relays). Only (2) Relay entries per event per team.
ENTRY SEED TIMES:
All entrants must submit entry marks for the events listed in the Meet Schedule. We ask your cooperation in being honest and accurate seed marks when entering. These marks must be recorded in official meets in 2015-2016. In fairness to all please do not turn in bogus marks. Those seeded in the top 10 for each event will have their marks checked. Athletes with bogus marks will be placed in slowest sections. Please adjust all hand times in sprint and hurdle events upward by .25. All athletes entered at NM or no mark will be seeded in the slowest heats and sections.
MINIMUM MEASURMENT MARKS / OPENING HEIGHTS / Attempts (Important) :
Opening heights may be adjusted downward by officials after a survey of the jump and vault participants. Minimum measurement marks (MMM) will be used in Horizontal Jumps and Throws. MMM = athlete will have thier first legal attempt meaured, after this time they must hit the MMM in order to have thier attempt measured. Total attempts may be ajdusted downward to accompdate field sixes / flights

TEAM AWARDS
IMPLEMENTS:
Shots and Discs will be provided by the meet management.
MEDICAL: On site medical will be provided and will be located in the infield. Our on site staff will provide event injury and emergent assesment and care only. Medical will not provide taping prior to competition.
PACKET PICK-UP:
4/9/15 - 7:30AM - Noon - Packet Pickup will take place at the entrance to the track outside the first turn - directly across the infield from the scoreboard.
COMPETITION AND UNIFORM RULES:
The Smoky Mountain Classic will run according to the rules set forth in the 2015 National High School Federation Rules and Case Book. These rules will be strictly enforced. In addition to these rules, the following rules of competition will also be in effect:
1. The track and field competition areas are explicitly closed to all coaches, non-competing athletes and spectators. Failure to comply will result in disqualification and removal by security.
2. Hip numbers must be worn on the front both hips and on the front of the athlete's jersey. The Clerk of the Course will hand out hip numbers for timing purposes.
3. No running warm-ups will be allowed on the track. No field event warm-ups will be allowed at the field event venue without an event official present.
4. Lapped runners in the distance races will be moved to lane 2.
5. Minimum marks for measurement and opening heights in field events are listed in the Meet Schedule
6. Relay batons will be provided.
7. A $50 cash protest fee must be paid at the awards pick-up when a protest is filed. This fee will be refunded only if your protest is upheld.
SEEDING:
All first round events (prelims) will be random seeded. All section vs time events will be seeded from best to worst with the fastest section running first. The top nine marks in field event trials will advance to finals. The top eight times in the running trial rounds will advance to finals.

AWARDS
>Individual awards - Plaques will be awarded to event champions. Medals will be awarded to places 2-8. You must be present to accept your award - meet management will not mail awards to those who leave the meet early.
>Relay awards - Plaques will be awarded to the team champion.
>Meet Awards - Outstanding Girls and Boys performers (MVP) will be awarded.
>Team awards - Plaques will be awarded to the top 3 Boys and Girls Teams.
