The Milligan College men's and women's track teams had a succesful outing at the Clemson Orange and Purple Classic Saturday afternoon in Clemson, S.C.
Milligan freshman Jacklyn Talbert (Mt. Carmel, Tenn.) led the Lady Buffs with a new personal best time of 2:18.70 in the 800 meters, with sophomore Kortney Goulds (Johnson City, Tenn.) following close behind with her own personal best of 2:19.57. Sophomore Brittany Bales (Kingsport, Tenn.) finished ninth in the women's 400 meters with a new lifetime best and school record run of 60.71.
On the men's side, senior All-American Chris Wright (Ocean City, Md.) and junior Jair Collie (Johnson City, Tenn.) also enjoyed personal bests on the day in the 1500 meters (4:01.69) and 800 meters (1:58.32), respectively.
Both squads will compete next weekend at the Nashville Distance Solution held on Vanderbilt's lightning fast 400 meter mondo track. The event is hosted by www.tnrunning.com.
