FAST CATS CLASSIC

October 13, 2012 @ Yellow Creek Park in Owensboro, KY

Hosted by Daviess County

(PROVIDED BY DAVIESS COUNTY)

Girls HS Preview.. It should be a tight race between #5 AAA Daviess Co. and #7 AAA dupont Manual… both teams have been up and down somewhat this season. The number #4 and #5 runners will more than likely decide the outcome on Saturday. The top 3 on each squad should negate each other, if they run as they have so far this season. #4 Whitney O’Bryan (DC), #5 Cassidy Hale (dM) and #7 Claire Payne (DC) all AAA and #2 AA Aleja Grant Paducah Tilghman should make for a great individual race up front. All of these ladies have run from 18:25 to 18:50 range this season. Seigel, Tn should figure in top 3-5 mix as a team also.

Boys HS Preview… With Rivals #3 AAA Daviess Co. and #4 AAA Apollo, a great shootout is in store for Saturday. Any time these two teams race, it brings out the best of both teams. Apollo has been plagued by a few injuries over the past few weeks, but looks to rebound somewhat for this event. Throw in #5 AA Edmonson County and #8 AAA Meade County, and it makes for a very competitive meet. Daviess Counties pack ran very well at the Owensboro city/county meet last week. If they perform like they did last week, they will be hard for the other teams to overcome.

On the individual side of things:  Several guys will be in the mix to claim the title, led by #4 AAA Chase Geary of Muhlenberg Co. Chase is coming off a 15:56 time at the Mustang Stampede last week. Quite impressive, since no one pushed the pace on him at all. Follow that up with #6 AAA Daniel Southard of Daviess and counterpart #10 AAA Cameron Quisenberry also of DC, along with Alex O’Bryan of Apollo, and Memphis University School has an athlete that ran 16:09 last week,  a good pack of 5 or 6 will battle for the individual title.
