Wright leads Milligan at Liberty Last Chance Meet
Lease wins Strawberry Plains Half Marathon
MILLLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (February 18, 2006) --- Milligan senior All-American Chris Wright continued his strong indoor season with a national qualifier in the mile (4:22.74) and a victory in the 1000 meter run (2:38.75) at Liberty University\'s Last Chance Meet in Lynchburg, Va.
Milligan lined up against host Liberty University, Maryland, UNC-Pembroke, Roanoke College, Lynchburg College, and Eastern Mennonite University.
In the women\'s mile, freshman Jacklyn Talbert and sophomore Kortney Goulds grabbed lifetime best times of 5:14.08 and 5:20.08, respectively. Talbert, who finished eighth overall, also dipped under the standard for indoor nationals.
In other Milligan action, junior Jair Collie finished third in the men\'s 1000 meter run, and also recorded an indoor best mile of 4:38.08, while the Lady Buff 4 x 800 meter relay team of Goulds, Brittany Bales, Ashley Pearce, and Talbert earned a national qualifier and set a school record with a time of 9:50.41.
The Buffs and Lady Buffs close out the regular indoor season at the VIC Last Chance Qualifier next Friday in Bristol, Va. For results see attached link.
