Lady Buffs earn national marks at Virginia Tech
(Blacksburg, Va.) --- The Milligan College women's track team earned three NAIA national qualifiers on day one of the Virginia Tech Invitational Friday at the Hokies Rector Fieldhouse. The Buffs and Lady Buffs faced teams from the Univ. of Maryland, Virginia Tech, George Mason, James Madison, UNC-Charlotte, Georgetown, Virginia, VMI, and Norfolk State.
Senior All-American Megan Lease again led the Lady Buffs with a third-place finish in the 5000 meter run with a national mark of 18:03, her fastest season opener to date.
"Megan is battling a little knee tendonitis, but she's shown a great deal of early season strength that should really have her ready once nationals rolls around in March," said head coach Chris Layne.
