Everything to help prepare you for the upcoming 2024 cross country season from rankings to predictions to runners to watch!

Holcombe Moves On To Roane State

This past spring, Webb Head Cross Country and Assistant Track coach Bobby Holcombe announced his departure from Webb to become the Head Cross Country coach at Roane State Community College. Coach Holcombe has been coaching at Knoxville High Schools since 2008 and has been coaching at Webb since 2014. In that time at Webb, he coached 12 state championship teams, as well as a NXN qualifying team in 2022. I recently sat down with him shortly after the announcement was made to discuss his time at Webb and his future at Roane State.

New Coach Takes Over Webb

Coach Holcombe's successor is Dan Murray out of North Carolina, who has had success coaching in the Outer Banks for the past few years, coaching 5 state champions in 2023. Coach Murray graduated from North Carolina State University where he was a four-time letter winner in Cross Country and Track. I also talked with Coach Murray about his experience, his training philosophy, and his goals and visions for Webb.
