Beasts Of The Southeast

When MileSplit National released their Top 10 Juniors to Watch this season, only Tennessee and California had two runners make the list. Abby Faith Cheeseman comes in ranked 4th for the Class of 2025 while Claire Stegall ranks 7th. Their sophomore seasons really went in opposite directions towards the end however. While Cheeseman ended hers with a 4th place finish at Champs Nationals, Stegall ended hers with a DNF at Runninglane for a "vagal" event that occurred 3 times that caused her to stumble to the finish. Hopefully those incidents are behind her and these two can push each other to Hutchins state record over the next two seasons. Only three girls in Tennessee History have run under seventeen minutes. This class may add two to that group next season.
