Fast 100m Races Highlight Thursday At Scott Hartman

Humphreys Debuts At 10.63

London Humphreys, the defending Division II Class AA 100m dash state champion, opened his title defense on Thursday in Brentwood at the Scott Hartman Invitational winning the 100m dash crossing the finish line in 10.63. This is a new PR for the future Commodore in the event. He staved off challenges by USN's Sidney Ware, teammate Ondre Evans, and current TN #3 Aden Bryan. Last week, Humphrey's opened his season with a 21.89 and a 24 foot long jump at FRA.

Kassim Breaks 12 In Win

While we don't have official results posted here, they were posting them at the meet and after I asked Alima Kassim if she knew her time as I had not visited the board before I left. "Yes!" She Replied, "11.96, I'm just excited to be part of the sub-12 club."  Though the runner up in the Division II Class A has a 11.86 next to her name from AAU, the mark also has a "w" denoting the wind during that race was over the legal limit. Yesterday was the first time in a USN uniform and the first wind-legal time to run below that barrier. She outsprinted a stout field that included Sophie Yount and Erica Douglas who prior to Thursday were ranked 1 and 4 in the event respectively.

I will not be returning for night two of the meet but check back for final results when they are posted. There were a lot of state-leading marks not highlighted here.
