Milligan College, Tenn. (July 30, 2009) --- Milligan College Head Coach Chris Layne announced the addition of four student-athletes to the Buffs and Lady Buffs, which finalizes the cross country and track and field recruiting class for 2009-10.
Leading off the newcomers is Kissimmee, Fla., native Elsa Figueroa. Figueroa, a Florida state qualifier in both cross country and track, owns a personal best of 2:22.57 in the 800 meter, 5:30.94 in the 1600 meter and 20:58.00 in the 5000 meter.
Roxanne Serrano of Brownsville, TX, recently inked with the Lady Buffs and owns a personal best of 12.84 in the 100 meter, as well as 17 feet in the long jump and 34 feet in the triple jump. Walker Valley’s Brandi Martin joins the Lady Buffs on the field side as she holds personal bests of 34-7 in the shot put and 91-5.5 in the discus. Rounding out the recruits is Georgia Southern transfer Robert Ludlam. Ludlam, originally from Brooklet, Ga., intends to major in nursing while at Milligan.
"By far, this has been our most successful recruiting class both in depth and talent, and our staff believes each of these new student-athletes will positively impact our teams over the next four years,” commented Layne.
