 Hey guys, hope everyone’s offseason training’s been going well.  It’s good to be getting around to racing season again, and I’m sure everyone else is as excited as I am.  I’ll just talk about what’ve I’ve been doing since I last wrote in December.

 

  After Footlocker Nationals, I went 16 days without running a single mile.  I just sat around the house and ate everything I’m not supposed to eat during the season. When I started running again, I started out at 37 miles a week and increased about 5 miles every two or three weeks until I peaked at 60 two weeks ago.  Most weeks have included a tempo run and some other type of quality workout.  Our team did a lot of circuit weight training and tried out some plyometric exercises as well.  We’ve focused more on increasing top-end speed than we have in the past, so hopefully that’ll help this year.  My first race was on February 21 at the Kentucky Invite.  I knew my legs wouldn’t feel fresh going into the race because I had already do...
