Milligan to host AAC championships

 Milligan College, Tenn. (Oct. 22, 2008) --- The Milligan College cross country teams will host the 2008 Appalachian Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships at Sycamore Shoals on Saturday, Nov. 8.  The men’s 8K race kicks off the event at 9:15 a.m., while the women’s 5K follows at 10:15 a.m. 

  

   In 2007, the Lady Buffs won their fifth straight AAC title at Sycamore Shoals.  The Lady Buffs swept the top five spots for a team total of 15.  Milligan’s MacKenzie LaBonte won the individual title and set the course record with a time of 18:36. 

  

   Last year on the men’s side, the Buffs finished second with 54 points, as Bryan College (Dayton, Tenn.) won the event with 29.  Individually, Milligan’s Ben Ronoh and Wegene Degefa (Rochester, N.Y.) placed first and third respectively.  Ronoh’s time of 25:27 set the current course record at Sycamore Shoals.
