Milligan announces two more signees for 08-09

 Milligan College, Tenn. (Apr. 9, 2008) --- Milligan College head coach Chris Layne announced today the addition of yet two more signees for the 2008-2009 school year.

 

Seniors Bryan Taveras (MorristownTenn.) and Byron Hart (RoanokeVa.) have both signed scholarship paperwork to compete for the Buffaloes of Milligan College.

 

Tavares, who specializes in the hurdles, earned all-conference, all-region, and all-state honors in 2007, and owns personal bests of 14.9 in the 110 meter hurdles and 40.8 in the 300 meter hurdles.

 

He is the son of Eddy Tavares and Damaris Booher, and plans to major in exercise science while at Milligan. Tavares is a member of the Honor Roll, Beta Club, and Spanish Club at Morristown East.

 

Hart is a two-time all-state standout in the 800 meters and 4 x 800 meter relay for Coach Eric Royal at William Byrd High School. He owns multiple all-conference and all-region honors in cross country and track, and has a personal best of 1:59 for 800 meters.

 

The son of Monroe and Johnsie Hart, he is a member of his high schools honor roll all four years, is the vice-president of the Spanish Club and is also a member of the Future Business Leaders of American. Hart plans to major in Business.

 

“Bryan and Byron are two outstanding young men that I see scoring for this team as freshman, and both have the potential to be competitive at a national level early in their careers,” said Layne.
