CLINIC DIRECTOR: JOHN FRAZIER THROWING EVENTS COACH FOR THE UT LADY VOLS

 

WHERE: Hall B - Knoxville Convention Center (just below the Holiday Inn Select – Worlds Fair). Free Parking in Locust St. garage.

 

COST: $25.00 per clinic (made payable to KTC)

 

WHAT TO BRING: Throwing Shoes or any non-spiked, non- cleated athletic shoe

THE FRAZIER FILE

  • Named to coaching staff for 2007 U.S. World Championship Team
  • Coaches current Lady Volunteer Shanna Dickenson who placed 3rd at the NCAA Championships in the discus and she also earned another All-American achievement in the hammer throw.  She set the school record in the hammer throw as well.
  • During his coaching career, athletes Frazier has directed have achieved a total of 34 All-America honors and won four NCAA titles
  • Named 2005 USTCA National and West Region Assistant Coach of the Year for Throws
  • Directed Rachel Varner to Pac-10 discus titles in 2004 and 2006, an NCAA West Regional title in 2004 and a placing of eighth at the 2006 NCAA Outdoor Championships
  • Helped Adam Kuehl chart runner-up efforts in the discus at the Pac-10 and NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2006
  • Tutored Sean Shields to third-place NCAA Indoor and Outdoor finishes in the shot and a sixth-place effort outdoors in the discus in 2006
  • Guided Sean Shields (shot put, '02) and Adam Kuehl (discus, '03) to U.S. Junior Championships and Shields to an American junior record in the shot.  As well as Shields holding the world junior record in the shot put for a time
  • Had a two-year stint coaching throwers at the University of Florida before joining the staff at Arizona
  • While in Gainesville, he led Emily Carlsten to a runner-up finish in the javelin at the 2000 NCAA Outdoor meet and to a third-place effort at the U.S. Olympic Trials that season
