MILLIGAN CROSS COUNTRY/TRACK AND FIELD: Four-time Virginia State Champ signs with Milligan
Milligan College head coach Chris Layne announced this week that four-time Virginia cross country state champion Austin Ellis (Charlottesville, Va.) will run for the Buffaloes next season.
Ellis won his fourth-straight individual Division II Virginia State Championship in November and led The Covenant School to the men's team title . He backed up his state title with a 51st place finish at the Foot Locker South Region Champs on November 24th with a personal best 5k time of 15:49.
"I can't think of a better way to kick-off our next recruiting class. Austin is such a balanced young man and he'll have an immediate impact on this program," said Layne.
Ellis, a member of the honor roll, is the son of Lindsay and Wendy Ellis. He has been coached by Charlie Souter and Lee Coppock and enjoys youth group leadership in his spare time.
