2007 Middle School State Championships are in the books

The 2007 Middle School State Championships are in the books and 600+ runners hopefully had one of the best meets of their lives. The day started with the elementary races. These kids ran a one mile course at Victor Ash Park. This race was open to any elementary age runners. The top finisher for the boys was Brandon Reymond who ran as unattached in 5:21. The winner on the girls side was Cassidy Giles from Kings Academy. She ran 5:52 on the same one mile cross country course.

The middle school races had some last minute attempts to stop teams that had worked so hard to get there. This meet was ran in the past with no conflicts of any kind. With some great efforts by parents, athletes, and the Coaches the show went on and created memories for these wonderful athletes that will last a life time.

The first middle school race was the junior varsity (JV) race. The JV race was a race for the athletes that were on a team that had more that ten runners (only 10 per team in the varsity race). The JV runners run the same two mile course as the varsity runners. Because of the numbers the boys and girls were ran together. I would say the numbers will not permit this next year. Here are the top 20 award winners for the girls.
