First off I need to say WOW what a spectacular meet. This meet was great for the younger runners in so many ways. I just about got choked up listening to some of the elementary kids. They were so proud of their trophies and how they did. For a child of that age in their minds the world ends at their state. So in their eye they could take on the world. Just to hear those kids and see how happy they were made it all worth it.
The first ever Tennessee middle school state cross-country championships was a great success. We had goals set to establish the meet, have some great competition, and promote this great sport of ours. I think we met those goals some more so than others, but we have a great foundation to build from. The promise and potential of this meet has no limits.
