State Qualifiers

For all Classes A, AA, & AAA, schools will be divided into four Sections. Sectionals will be held across the state with qualifiers advancing to the State Championships. The following will be the number of qualifiers from each sectional to the state meet:

  • Class A: The top 4 teams and the 8 next best individual times
  • Class AA: The top 4 teams and the 6 next best individual times
  • Class AAA: The top 4 teams and the 6 next best individual times

Meet directors should review the full cross country regulations. Please note that while you may allow a team to run more than 7 from one school for your sectional race, the coach must designate which 7 scores will potentially count prior to the race.

A team will consist of a minimum of five and a maximum of seven. However, if a school does not have a team it may enter less than five runners in the individual division of the meet. No school shall enter more than seven participants in the sectional or state cross country meet.

Boxes assignments will be given out at packet pickup.

There will be a fee of $50 for a girls' team and $50 for a boys' team for each school that participates in the championship series. Check with your school administration to see if this was paid with your school's membership in August. This can be reviewed on the school ledger on the TSSAA Portal.

TMSAA Uniform Rule: All uniforms must follow the NFHS Rules. The referee will warn every participant prior to the meet that they must compete in a legal uniform, and if a contestant competes in an illegal uniform, then that contestant is disqualified from the event. There are no team warnings or individual warnings after the meet begins. Officials should use preventative officiating as much as possible.

Hello everyone please instruct your bus drivers to drop your student-athletes off at the entrance behind the football stadium. We are going to have everyone put their tents up in the outfield of the baseball field.

Spectator Parking: All parking needs to be at the high school, it will be $5 per vehicle, please let your parents know. So they will be prepared as we will only accept cash.
