Etcheson inks with Milligan Track

MILLIGAN COLLEGE, TN (February 1, 2006) --- Lianna Etcheson, a senior at Southmont High School (Ind.) has signed to run collegiately with the Lady Buffs of Milligan College. She is the first official track and field signee for Milligan since the athletic department announced the expansion of it's track and field program to include sprinters, jumpers, hurdlers and throwers.

Etcheson, a three year letter winner in track, has concentrated on the 100 and 200 meters while at Southmont. She also earned four varsity letters in cross country.

Etcheson is currently ranked 2nd in her class and holds a 4.0 GPA. She is a member and secretary of the National Honor Society and has earned honor roll status every trimester. She was also elected to represent Southmont at Hoosier Girls State during the summer of 2005.
"Lianna is an outstanding student and a well-rounded athlete who comes from a gymnastics background, so we're excited about her potential to improve in our program," said head coach Chris Layne.
Lianna plans to major in nursing while attending Milligan College.
