Summerville junior Davon Anderson ran a national-leading time of 7.88 in the 60-meter hurdles at the KYA High School Indoor Classic Saturday in Johnson City, Tenn.
The Knoxville Youth Athletics High School Indoor Classic at East Tennessee State University has always been known to produce top US marks every year and the 2013 edition was no different. Using the large 283 meter track athletes helped rewrite the current US top 20 list. 19 marks have now populated that list with 13 athletes coming away with US top 10 marks.
The East Tennessee State men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams will compete in the first of two home meets on the year this weekend, as the Buccaneers host the 35th annual Niswonger Invitational at the Mountain States Health Alliance Athletics Center. The two-day event will begin on Friday morning at 10 a.m. with the preliminaries of the women’s 60 hurdles and conclude on Saturday afternoon.
