Signal Mountain Girls Win A/AA East Track Sectional

The Signal Mountain High School girls' track team won the A/AA East Sectional Tuesday at Christian Academy of Knoxville.

Overall, Signal Mountain took first place honors in the
100m (Mckenzie Ethridge 9th grade),
200m (Mckenzie Ethridge),
3200m (Mallory Young 10th grade),
4 x 100m relay (Ethridge, Anna Abello, Katie Lingle, Aryn Sanders - all 9th graders),
4 x 200m relay (Ethridge 9th, Sanders 9th, Lingle 9th, Shelby Wright 10th),
4 x 800m relay (Mallory Young 10th, Madison Drennan 11th, Becca Umbarger 9th, Emily Thornton 10th)

Mallory Young also advances to the state in the 1600m finishing 2nd today.

Other highlights:  Camryn Bowman - 8th grade, finished 6th in both the shot and discus


In Boys, Chaz Hawkins advances in the 110 hurdles, finishing first today.  Chaz also had a 3rd place finish in the 300 hurdles and we will know Friday if he advances.
