Section 4, AAA Entry Standards

In order to conduct the AAA, Section 4 Track and Field Championship meet as a high quality meet in a timely fashion, it was agreed upon by majority vote of the AAA, Section 4 coaches in 2006 that each year a set of entry standards would be established. It was agreed upon that these would be SUGGESTED GUIDELINES only. But it was agreed upon as well, by majority vote, that all AAA, Section 4 coaches would voluntarily consider these guidelines when entering athletes into the Section 4 Championship Meet.

It is known by all that the TSSAA rule for the post-season entry level Track and Field Championships states that each school is permitted to enter a maximum of three (3) entrants per event. The standards in no way attempt to overrule or supercede that TSSAA rule. The purpose of the standards is to simply ask that coaches voluntarily consider the suggested standards/entry cut-offs when making their entries in order to achieve a high quality section meet that is fair and equitable for ALL those involved, including ALL participating athletes and ALL spectators who pay money to watch a PREMIER Track and Field event.

Coaches, you may enter 3 athletes per event if you so choose. But it is requested that you please:

1) Consider the standards as guidelines when making your entries please try to enter only those athletes you believe will be competitive at this level, as agreed upon by majority vote each year since 2006.

2) In order to minimize complaints about false entry times/distances/heights, make every attempt to provide verifiable entries. You may use the Section 4 Event Verification Form for those meets that do not post results on the internet, as agreed upon by majority vote each year since 2006.

3) Note that entry times/heights/distances that cannot be verified will be placed at the lowest level of seeding for that event as agreed upon by majority vote each year since 2006.

Thank you for your consideration in these matters.
