Frick Files III: The Natural State Is On The Rise

Bentonville shines in the Longhorn State...again

For a second straight week, Bentonville took a trip west to Texas and raced against some of the best competition in the South and once again proved why they are the premier program in Arkansas.

This week it was the boys squad that put on a show, knocking off Texas powerhouse Lucas Lovejoy and Round Rock en route to a 70-point victory. The Tigers were led by James American Horse and Owen Kelley, who finished 9th and 10th, just 0.8 seconds apart.

Eli Seavey and Matthew Shelly were just six seconds behind the lead duo and finished 13th and 14th, while Payton Brack rounded out the team's top 5 in 30th. All five dipped under 15:40 and walked away with an incredible 0:23 1-5 split.

Haley Loewe led the way for the girls team, racing her way to a second-place finish in a loaded field, running another Arkansas #1 time of 17:23.70.

Devyn O'Daniel was the next finisher for the girls, finishing 17th while her sister Everly O'Daniel finished next in 23rd. Lily Aicklen and Hannah Hanson rounded out the teams' top 5.

The girls finished 3rd, behind Lucas Lovejoy, who is amongst one of the best teams in Texas, and Northwest Nelson.

The Tigers will get their first chance to flex their muscles against their in-state competition next week as they are scheduled to race at the ultra-competitive Cyclone Invitational in Russellville, which will play host to the best teams in the Natural State.
