Former Tennessee Sprinters Continue To Excel On Gridiron

Gridiron Highlights

With multiple timing errors occurring Saturday morning in the eastern part of the state and a night race bookending the day of competition in the west part of the state, there weren't a lot of results coming in that afternoon. As I scrolled social media that day for updates a few highlights hit my timeline that caught my attention from the other sport that takes place most Saturdays in the Fall. Here's a quick compilation of those.

Kevin Davis

Then: Trinity Christian 2019 State Champion - 100m, 200m Dash

Now: Running Back, Miami of Ohio

Mason Gudger

Then: Greeneville 2022 State Runner Up 100m, 200m Dash

Now: Kick Returner, Georgetown

Sean Williams

Then: BGA 2022 State Runner Up Long Jump, State Champion 4x1 (3rd Leg)

Now: Safety, Dartmouth

There are likely dozens more of examples I could highlight here every week from football and other collegiate sports but these are the ones I saw and I apologize if I missed you. We don't exactly have the bandwidth to monitor this every week but this weekend seemed like a good opportunity to do so. For the high school track coaches who are about to recruit all the football players to their team as the season winds down, good luck. I know the struggle and no amount of real world examples like these above or translates to athletes who are "committed to football" but hopefully this helps.
