This week's rankings were particularly tough because several top athletes have not raced yet. Those who did race won smaller-scale meets against unranked opponents. Most of the movement we see comes from guys who lost to unranked opponents and moved down, or guys who had outstanding races and jumped up. Runners who have not yet raced were affected by these changes and moved up or down accordingly. No one has fallen out of the rankings this week.

The biggest move up was from Grant Gardner who moves up seven places after winning the Pre Region 8 meet in Utah running 14:17.41 for 3 miles. Ryan Raff also makes a jump up three places after running a 186 Speed Rating with a time of 15:19.40 for 3 miles. The biggest drop comes from Jacob McLeod who falls four places after losing to Charles Hicks from Bolles High School at the Bale-n-Trail Cross Country Original.

Some guys who will have serious nods in weeks to come are:

Chad Johnson Colonel Crawford (OH) -- Won the Colonel Crawford Early Bird Invitational on Aug. 26 and then won the Bucyrus Elks Invitational over Zach Kreft (4th 2016 OHSAA State T&F 1600m) on Sept. 2.

Derick Peters West Central High School (SD) -- Won the Augie Twilight meet as well as the John Collignon XC Invite.

Charles Hicks Bolles HS (FL) -- Won the Bale-n-Trail Cross Country Original over Flo50 ranked No. 7 Jacob McLeod.

Grant Price Wayzata High School (MN) -- Won the Columbus Catholic Invitational 15:45.50 over teammate Khalid Hussein (15:49.40).
