West HS Last Chance Meet 2021

The Last Chance Meet at Knoxville West HS is an All-Comers Meet, serving as the last opportunity for teams to qualify for Sectionals. Although the main purpose is to help qualify, it can be used as a last chance for athletes to compete who know their season is ending without a Sectional mark. If you still have room on your schedule and could use a last chance meet, we'd love to have you out there. Medals will be awarded to Top 3 finishers in each event; Freshmen sections also award Top 3. Coaches, officials, and volunteers will be fed lunch by Dead End BBQ. Concessions will be available to spectators. $5 gate fee for spectators. Mask required for entry due to Knox County policy.

***Seniors from all teams will be recognized with a senior lap at 11:30am (optional participation).***

*POLE VAULT COMPETITION NOW ADDED!* Pole vault will take place on Friday, May 7 at 5:30pm at Farragut HS. Farragut HS Track & Field Staff will run the event.

Absolutely no pets allowed inside track meet!

Entry Fees: No separate Boys/Girls fee. $5 per athlete (up to $75 max)

Meet Info: Athletes are limited to 4 events only. All field events are 4 attempts. West HS Track requires spectator awareness to stay safe and not interfere with track meet. Please follow all signs and do no cross rope or tape. Paths around facility will be clearly marked as well as tent areas. Tents can be put at top of stands on both sides except for in front of press box. Check in and staging area will be on the infield. Athletes will need to be back at check-in area 10 minutes before event, when official will take them to start. Field event athletes will check-in at their venue 30 minutes prior to start.

Due to Covid, NO warm ups or camping out in the infield. I will allow warm ups along the back stretch pending what event is going on. Athletes must have a Milesplit time for seeding in fast heat.

Event check-in will be at tent on football field. Although calls will be made to help with meet flow, athletes may begin checking in at 30 minutes prior to start time of their event.

NOTE ABOUT MEET SCHEDULE TIMES: If there is to be a change in meet time, it will be on the side of more versus less time. The biggest goal for most athletes at a Last Chance Meet is to qualify for Sectionals. We would rather have 5 minutes of down time versus pushing the meet too fast. This way, everyone can adequately prepare and warm-up for each event knowing the time the event will start. Also, a little extra rest can help the athletes doing multiple events. Meet schedule times are currently set to be able to expand if needed.
