Smyrna Parks 5K Run 2008

Good morning runners and welcome to the 2008 Smyrna Parks 5K Run, High School Challenge & Bill Nash Competitive Mile, August 9, 7:30am, Sharp Springs Park, Smyrna. Like last year, it promises to be another enjoyable time on a flat and fast course. Attached, is the registration form that you may print and mail back to me for pre-registration. We still have a low pre and race day fee of $15 & $18. We will also have new tech t-shirts guaranteed for all pre-reg. For the mile, we have added $100 prize money to the 1st overall male and female and awards will be 1st - 3rd in the mile. It is a new mile course that is state and national record eligible, just like the 5K. If you want to run both races, you only pay once for both or either. For the 5K, we will have awards for overall male, female-3 deep; overall male, female masters & grandmasters and age group awards from 10U to 80+, 3-deep in 5 year increments. There will also be a high school boys and girls champion team award. We will have Fazoli's bread sticks, Little Caesar's Pizza, Chick-Fil-A and Jim 'N Nick's BBQ for after race amenities that also include sports drinks and fruit. There will be a bouncy on site for children and door prizes. The race will be ChampionChip timed by the Nashville Striders Running Club.
