Meet: 2019 TMSAA Upper East Sectional XC Meet

Payments should be sent to TMSAA.

Registration will be online at Tennessee MileSplit,  tn.milesplit.com. Please make sure that you register in the correct division. Entry deadline is September 21 at 1:00 AM.

Who: TMSAA member Middle School Teams assignned to Section 1

            Please check the classification list on the TMSAA website to make sure you are assignned to Section 1 before registering for this meet. 

Where: Holston Home Cross Country Course, Greeneville

When: September 24, 2019 (Tuesday)

First race will start at 4:45 PM. Times are approximate based on finish of the previous race.

4:45 - Small School Girls

5:10 - Small School Boys

5:35 - Large School Girls

6:00 - Large School Boys

6:20 PM Combined JV

You may list 10 athletes, but only run 7.

If you advance to the state meet you may run any 7 of the 10 you have listed at the region.



We will have a combined JV/open/non-scoring race at 6:20 pm (eastern). Same course, the clock will be running, just no official JV results and no awards. You do not need to list JV runners online.

Access to the course is off of TN 70 Bypass (Asheville Hwy). Parking is restricted to designated areas at the XC course. Holston Home is a working childrens home. Please DO NOT attempt to enter the Main Campus of Holston Home or Beacon School. This presents security problems when outsiders enter the campus.

There will be a $2 per vehicle parking donation requested at the race site. No charge for team bus or coach parking.

T-Shirts: Eagle Sportz will be selling souvenir shirts. Shirts will be printed onsite. Prices may vary according to the shirt selected.

I. General Regulations

  1. TMSAA Uniform Rule: All uniforms must follow the NFHS Rules. The referee will warn every participant prior to the meet that they must compete in a legal uniform, and if a contestant competes in an illegal uniform, then that contestant is disqualified from the event. There are no team warnings or individual warnings after the meet begins. Officials should use preventative officiating as much as possible.
  2. For cross country competition the schools should be divided into two classes:Class A andClass AA for both girls and boys.
  3. The middle school cross country distanceshall be 2 miles for both girls and boys.
  4. FourSectionals (Martin, Murfreesboro, Chattanooga, and Greeneville) will be held across the state with the qualifiers advancing to the State Championships. Due to the differing number of schools participating in each meet, the following will be the number of qualifiers from each sectional to the state meet: Greeneville & Chattanooga will advance 26 qualifiers (top three teams and the five next best times) from each classification; Martin will advance 19 qualifiers (top two teams and the five next best times) from each classification; Murfreesboro will advance 43 qualifiers (top five teams and the eight next best times) from each classification.
  5. Sectionals must be completed by September 28, 2019.
  6. State Championships will be held October 5, 2019 in Clarksville, TN.
  7. There will be a fee of $50 for a girls' team and $50 for a boys' team for each school that participates in the championship series. Check with your school administration to see if this was paid with your school's membership in August. This can be reviewed on the school ledger on the TSSAA Portal.
PARKING INFORMATION


TMSAA Championship traffic will be heavy. Come early and be patient. The course will be open by 3:30. Races will not be delayed for late arriving teams so plan ahead. We have implemented some new parking restrictions to help with traffic.

Access to the course for cars is from the TN 70 Bypass (Asheville

Hwy). Parking is restricted to designated areas at the XC course. Coaches with

equipment, meet officials, elderly and handicapped patrons only will be allowed

to park in a reserved area near the start/finish area. You will be directed up

the hill to a drive going out to this area. All other cars will be directed to parking

areas near the highway.

NO ONE will be allowed to drive across the course during a race.

Tents may be placed anywhere except in designated parking areas or

on the area cut for the course and/or start/finish.
