About the Clinic

John Frazier will be the Clinician.
He is the throws coach for the Mens and Womens Volunteer Track and Field Team.

Athletes Frazier has coached have achieved a total of 45 All-America honors and won four NCAA Championships. He was named 2005 USTCA National and West Region Assistant Coach of the Year for Throws. At UT, Frazier has directed athletes to eleven All-America honors, ten SEC titles and three NCAA regional crowns. Tennessee athletes have broken 14 school and class records in 7 years at UT. His Current standouts include Matt Hoty indoor and outdoor All American 2012, Cameron Brown freshman weight school record holder, Tavis Bailey runner-up 2012 SEC Champs, All SEC hammer throwers Jessie Harrison and Drew Thomas. Also, SEC finalist Katherine Dresch in the Javelin and Kyle Quinn the 9th best high school javelin thrower from 2011 who red-shirted last year. He also directed Arizona's Rachel Varner to Pac-10 discus titles in 2004 and 2006, an NCAA West Regional title in 2004. Frazier helped UA's Adam Kuehl chart runner-up efforts in the discus at the Pac-10 and NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2006. He also tutored Wildcat Sean Shields to third-place NCAA Indoor and Outdoor finishes in the shot and a sixth-place effort outdoors in the discus in 2006. Frazier guided Shields (shot put, '02) and Kuehl (discus, '03) to U.S. Junior Championships and Shields to an American junior record (and world junior record) in the shot. While at University of Florida, Frazier led Emily Carlsten to a runner-up finish in the javelin at the 2000 NCAA Outdoor meet and to a third-place effort at the U.S. Olympic Trials. Other notable athletes include Chima Ugwu Nigerian champion and Olympic athlete 2000-04, Alex Ghanotakis Greece 2002-03, and consultant for Esko Mikkola Finnish javelin thrower and Olympic finalist 2004 Athens. Former UT grad Garland Porter threw the 35lbs weight 80ft 1/2in to become the sixth best competitor of all time in the world for that event in 2011.

Who can come? Open to any and all entrants (limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender

Rules and Restrictions:

1. It is not permissible for boosters to provide expenses for individuals to attend any of the Tennessee Sports Camps. Expenses include but are not limited to, lodging, meals, transportation, and/or camp tuition.

2. All Tennessee Sports Camps are open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.

3. The university may postpone or cancel this event due to circumstances or conditions beyond its control, such as, but not limited to natural disasters, acts of war, acts of God, or public health emergencies.
