Chattanooga Area schools and runners in Class AAA left Knoxville with one gold medal but it was an emphatic one. East Hamilton Girls won the 4x200m Relay Team posting the fastest time for the event in state meet history.
Record Keeping
The following are the event records for the TSSAA Middle School State Meet by Classification. Prior to this year, there were only two classifications. It didn't seem appropriate for the new Class AA (comprised of mid-sized schools) to adopt the old Class AA (comprised of the largest middle schools) marks so this is the approach I took when compiling these records:
Class A - All New Records
Class AA - Adopts Class A Records from 2016 through 2025
Class AAA - Adopts Class AA Records from 2016 through 2025
These are not officially recognized by the TSSAA nor are they the fastest marks in our database but they are the most consistent and accurate marks we have for this growing demographic.
