They're always there at the end of the season. Despite bumps, major or minor, you can pretty much count on Allentown Central Catholic to be ready for the post-season. Ranked in the pre-season at #10 in the Northeast, they lost an early meet to Easton the week before beating Chambersburg at Gettysburg. That was all reversed at the 10/27 PIAA District 11 girls AAA race at Lehigh, when they scored just 48 points to beat Easton by 22. Easton also qualifies for States, holding off Emmaus by three and Parkland by 12. Chanelle Price of Easton ran 18:31 to take first by ten seconds over Emmaus frosh Melissa Meade and Parkland senior Erin Roberts. Marcie Sobrinski and Meghan Burns led Allentown Central Catholic with their 4 and 5 place finishes. In AAA Boys, Parkland tallied just 45 points behind the one-two finishes of senior Ryan Ritter in 16:00 and junior Tim Stepp in 16:03. Liberty also advances.

In AA, it was all Tamaqua, although the girls race was decided by just two points, and five separated going to states or staying home. Alexa Griffiths and Isac Dunkelberger repeated their league double-wins, with Alexa going 19:24 and Isaac running 15:44. The Tamaqua girls held off Northwetern Lehigh 78-80, but both qualify. The Tamaqua boys were 32 better than Notre Dame Green Pond.
