BRENTWOOD - Austin Peay State University junior Enock Langat" href="http://www.apsugovernors.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=91932&SPID=10669&DB_OEM_ID=16900&ATCLID=1580192&Q_SEASON=2010">Enock Langat was named the Ohio Valley Conference's Male "Runner of the Week," the
league office announced, Tuesday.
Langat, of Litein, Kenya, finished 14th - 11th among
collegiate runners - finished the five-kilometer course in 16:08.37 to lead the
Govs to a fifth-place finish at the Belmont-Vanderbilt Cross Country Opener,
Friday. The field included regionally-ranked Tennessee and Lipscomb as well as
Vanderbilt and Middle Tennessee. He was one of two runners not among those four
teams to finish among the top 20 collegiate runners.
"This is a wonderful honor for Enock," said Austin Peay
cross country head coach Doug Molnar. "It an early reward for all of the hard
work he's put in since last season ended. I believe Enock is only going to get
better as the year goes on.
